Mahesh babu as ENCOUNTER SHAKAR in this movie after dookudu movie. Shankar (Mahesh Babu) aspires to become a cop right from a very young age and exhibits the ability to handle the culprits in his own style ever since then. Finally, He manages to wear Police Uniform one day and gets a posting in a town named Bukkapatnam where a gangster, a politician and a police boss conspires to pocket crores with the construction of a power project. It was during his confrontation with them the baddies, Protagonist comes to know about the personal vengeance he holds against them. How he settles scores with them forms the rest of story! -
Artists Performance:
Mahesh Babu: He breathes life into the character of Encounter Shankar and the way he moulds himself for every film is appreciable. As usual, He is at his best in every aspect whether its dialogue modulation or dances or fights or intense performance. He did his best to make the proceedings interesting even though the script was so weak.
Tamanna: She is so beautiful in the half-sarees but irritates with her over-action at times.
Shruti Haasan: The item number ‘Junction Lo…’ is one of the very few high points in ‘Aagadu’. She makes the crowd go berserk with her ravishing avatar and hot moves.
Brahmanandam: As Delhi Suri, Comedy King hardly entertains and his dance performance in the climax reminds of many films in the recent past.
Sonu Sood, Vennela Kishore, Nassar, Posani, Raghu Babu and Others have been just okay.
Plus Points:
- Mahesh Babu’s screen presence, dialogue modulation and performance
- Shruti Haasan’s ‘Junction Lo…’
- Punchlines
Minus Points:
Direction
Brahmi Comedy
Predictable
Numerous Dialogues
Story
Analysis:
After ‘Andarivaadu’, This is one film were Srinu Vytla-mark entertainment failed to entertain the movie buffs. Routine Scenes and Predictability are the biggest setbacks of ‘Aagadu’. While the First Half is for hardcore Mahesh Fans, Second Half is even worse. Even the much-hyped ‘Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu’ spoof and Brahmanandam comedy track are just average.
Couple of songs composed by SS Thaman were good and his Background score is not bad either. Prem Rakshit does a good job as choreographer. KV Guhan’s cinematography is an asset. Dialogues pack a punch. Editing isn’t up to the mark. Production Values are grand.
At Box Office, ‘Aagadu’ will have a superb opening weekend because of enormous hype and massive release. Overall, Aagadu has rich performances by lead actors and superb production values, but the movie lacks a fresh and interesting storyline. It is a routine revenge drama that rocks you with its mass elements. It’s a good time-passer for this weekend. Don’t miss it.
