Rajinikanth set to create new South Indian record

Rajinikanth and records are synonymous with each other. The Superstar of South cinema has been breaking them time and again in a long and glittering career.

Now for his latest film ‘Lingaa’, Rajinikanth is all set to create one more unique record. The movie is going to release on the 12th in a massive way and it will have approximately 1300 multiplex shows on Day 1 in South India alone, with a theater count of over 1500!

Across the world, the film is expected to release in about 2200 + theaters, making it the biggest release ever for a South Indian movie. Apart from Tamil Nadu, Rajinikanth commands a strong fan following in Telugu speaking regions as well and this is one of the reasons behind this massive release.

Lingaa has been directed by KS Ravi Kumar and Rockline Venkatesh has produced it. Sonakshi Sinha and Anushka are the heroines in this AR Rahman musical.
